Meet Dashad.

Dashad Cooper’s journey is deeply rooted in Charlottesville. Born and raised here, he experienced our public schools firsthand—from his early days at Jefferson School to graduating from Charlottesville High School in 2013. This lifelong connection has given him unique insights into both the strengths and challenges of our education system, fueling his commitment to ensuring every child thrives in a supportive, inclusive environment. 

Drawing on his experience at Charlottesville Social Services and his leadership as Vice Chair of the Charlottesville Democratic Committee, Dashad brings personal passion and professional expertise to his School Board candidacy. Now in his final year at Piedmont Community College, his campaign centers on building strong readers, boosting attendance, and supporting educators and unions—cornerstones for a vibrant, equitable school system in Charlottesville.
